  The 16th GAUDEAMUS International Book and Education Fair is held under the auspices of The European Year 2009 of Creativity and Innovation. GAUDEAMUS invites you to meet the traditional specialized sections, exhibitions and events branded GAUDEAMUS, as well as a series of novel events, such as:
  ::The 12th Education Salon - a specialized section dedicated to high education institutions will be present this year with 40 dedicated stands – high education schools or formative organizations, from Romania and abroad. It hosts Harvard University with a series of workshops that aims at presenting and promoting the University's educational offer. The lecturer is Mr. Alexandru Manaila, a Harvard graduate and interviewer.
  ::The 6th „Ion Creanga” Salon of Books for Children is one Gaudeamus section exclusively dedicated to children that includes specialized books, magazines and educational materials, houses an Internet Café, recreational and educational areas, and organizes interractive activities and entertaining events created by children.
  ::The 8th National Salon for Youth Design and Inventions 2009 is organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. It exhibits inventions and ideas, creation mini-shops for the youth, as well as round tables, debates, conferences, in different fields such as sciences and technology.
  ::The Contact Desk – a venue for communication among professionals and an additional tool to promote the brand image of our partners and host literary debates, meetings, round tables, professional presentations, added/value events.
   
  To celebrate this European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009, GAUDEAMUS introduces a series of innovative exhibitions, among whichh we mention:
  ::Gutenberg Landmark - Towards The Renaissance of Bibliophile Book. It is a bibliophile book exhibition that unfolds an illustrated history of Romanian literature through unique Romanian poetry bibliophile works from Mihai Eminescu to Nichita Stanescu and Basarab Nicolescu, all declined by the Romanian artist Mircia Dumitrescu. Engravings, sculpture and graphic art works designed and made by the artist of paper, wood and canvas are also exhibited in a dialogue between the verb and the visual arts.
  ::The original Einaudi Book Exhibition 1933-1983/I Libri Einaudi 1933-1983 as a tribute paid to the memory of its founder, Giulio Einaudi. The exhibition opened at Gaudeamus in Bucharest is organized under the patronage of the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Romania. The present itinerant exhibition was initiated at the wellknown Petrini Library in Turin last April and will be opened in New York in November 2010.
  ::Bucharest 550 – The Memory of Documents is organized by The Metropolitan Library of Bucharest to celebrate 550 years since the City of Bucharest was first mentioned in documents. The exhibition displays a series of items from the rich Bucharest Library Collection of MLB, which is made up of over 4000 pieces, carefully selected from rare old books, national heritage books, bibliophile unique items, iconographic documents, original maps and boards, guidebooks and fine arts albums inspired by Bucharest everyday life scenes.
   
  The Seminar on : The Literary Translation – between Creativity and Innovation

  ::In this European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009, GAUDEAMUS shall organize the
seminar on Literary Translation aiming to promote international cultural and literary
exchanges, communicate the values of Romanian language, literature and culture in Europe
and European cultures and literatures in Romania, and mainly help have an insight on the
translation from and into Romanian.
  ::The events have been enlisted by the European Commission under The European Year 2009 of Creativity and Innovation.
